Whistle Under the Dash? One Owner’s Hunt for a Brake Booster Fix on a 2014 E350

A 2014 Mercedes-Benz E350 owner is chasing down a familiar but frustrating noise: a faint whistle from under the dashboard when braking gently at low speeds. The brakes still feel solid, and the sound comes and goes, but it’s enough to drive anyone crazy. After some digging, the owner suspects the culprit is the brake booster plunger seal, a known weak point on earlier models, but the fix isn’t so straightforward for 2014 and newer cars.
The owner inspected the seal and found the foam cover had disintegrated, which is a common issue. The visible seal looks identical to the aftermarket URO brand seal, but URO’s parts catalog only covers through the 2013 model year. That leaves a gap for 2014+ boosters. The owner can’t tell if the noise is from the seal or the internal diaphragm because the problem only happens while driving, not when parked.
The booster in question carries part number A 212 430 1330 Q02.
Searching online forums and watching replacement videos, the owner found plenty of guides for earlier years but nothing confirming a successful fix on a 2014 or newer booster. The question now is whether anyone has swapped that plunger seal on a later-model booster, or if the design changed enough to require a whole new unit.
For now, the car runs fine, but that whistle isn’t going away on its own.
