VW Teases Redesigned Atlas Cross Sport Ahead of Next Week's Debut

Volkswagen has offered a first glimpse of the redesigned Atlas Cross Sport, a five-seat crossover set to debut next week with a turbocharged engine. The automaker released a single teaser image showing an angular rear window and a pronounced spoiler, though details remain scarce.
The vehicle arrives roughly four months after the seven-seat Atlas was introduced at the New York Auto Show. The five-seater is expected to follow its larger sibling's lead but with sportier styling and slightly less practicality.
9-inch infotainment system, and a dual wireless smartphone charger. Higher trims could add illuminated exterior door handles, glowing VW logos, leather upholstery, a 15-inch infotainment screen, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated second-row seats, 30-color ambient lighting, and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
Under the hood, the Cross Sport is expected to use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 282 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and either front- or all-wheel drive. With AWD, fuel economy is estimated at around 20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined.
