Volkswagen Recalls Over 57,000 Atlas SUVs - What Boca Raton Owners Should Do

Volkswagen has issued a recall affecting more than 57,000 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport SUVs, targeting a problem with the rearview camera. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the camera display may fail to show an image or flicker intermittently, which raises safety concerns because drivers lose a clear view behind the vehicle.
The recall covers certain 2021 through 2023 model years.
The root cause appears to be a software glitch in the camera control module that can cause the system to crash during startup. While no crashes or injuries have been reported so far, VW is moving quickly to correct the issue at no charge to owners. Dealers will update the software free of charge, and owners should expect notification letters starting in late April.
If you own one of these SUVs, checking your vehicle identification number on the NHTSA website will confirm if yours is included.
