Used Hellcat vs. New Camry: Same Price, 707 HP on One Side

Used Hellcat vs. New Camry: Same Price, 707 HP on One Side

The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat was a bargain when new, and depreciation has made it an even bigger one today. Used examples now sell for roughly the same price as a new 2026 Toyota Camry XSE, which starts at $36,000 before destination. One 2015 Hellcat with 72,000 miles was listed at $35,424, while another with higher mileage went for $34,500.

These aren't isolated deals, several similar listings exist, putting first-year Hellcats in the price range of an ordinary new sedan.

2-liter Hemi V8 producing 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, with either an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual. 2-second quarter-mile on street tires. 50 for a 650-hp Corvette Z06. At today's roughly $35,000 price, that figure drops to about $50 per horsepower.

com still lists the average 2015 Hellcat at $45,017, but that includes collector-grade examples like a 1,000-mile car at $68,750. In the general market, many cars fall between $35,000 and $40,000. Buyers should note the Hellcat's appetite for tires, fuel, and brakes, and a pre-purchase inspection is recommended.

Cars with questionable modifications should be avoided.

The best buys are driver-grade Hellcats with higher mileage, original condition, and full maintenance records, not garage queens. Early 2015-2016 models are especially appealing because they could be ordered with a three-pedal manual, which Dodge later restricted due to calibration issues.

These cars have depreciated enough that owners won't feel guilty driving them regularly.

The Hellcat remains a spacious coupe with a large trunk and usable rear seats, not just a brutal muscle car. For the price of a sensible Camry, it offers supercar-level power and a dramatic driving experience that has held up well over time.
