Used Cadillac CTS Vsport Now Costs Less Than a New Hyundai Elantra

The third-generation Cadillac CTS Vsport, with its twin-turbo V6, athletic handling, and luxurious cabin, has become a standout bargain on the used market. Clean examples now regularly sell for less than a new Toyota Corolla, and often below the price of a new Hyundai Elantra.
6-liter twin-turbo V6 producing 420 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic and rear- or all-wheel drive. It bridged the gap between the standard CTS and the supercharged V8 CTS-V. The engine proved so capable that a variation still powers the CT4-V Blackwing.
The Alpha platform, shared with the Camaro and later CT4 and CT5, underpins its sharp handling.
A common criticism is the CUE infotainment system, which relied on capacitive touch buttons and lacked a rotary controller. However, 2016 and newer models feature improved software and early Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, making them more future-proof.
Originally priced around $60,000, the CTS Vsport has depreciated sharply. Current used prices range from $12,000 to $22,000, with early high-mileage models at the lower end and late-model examples in good condition at the higher end. That places it below the cost of a new Elantra with a 147-hp four-cylinder.
For driving enthusiasts, the Vsport offers a rare combination of chassis dynamics, luxury, and turbocharged performance at a commuter-car price. It remains a compelling option for those seeking a distinctive alternative to used German sedans.
