Toyota’s 2027 TRD Pro Trucks and SUVs Get a Golden Makeover - Here’s What’s New

Toyota is giving its off-road TRD Pro lineup a fresh splash of color for the 2027 model year. The Japanese automaker has officially unveiled two new yellow paint options: Honeycomb for the Tundra, Sequoia, and Tacoma, and Hot Honey for the 4Runner. Honestly, it’s hard to tell the two apart, they’re nearly identical to the naked eye.

Why Toyota bothered creating a separate name for the 4Runner’s shade is anyone’s guess, but the result is a bright, warm yellow that instantly catches attention. These hues replace last year’s Wave Maker, a vibrant turquoise that itself had replaced the Mudbath brown from 2025.

Beyond the paint, the 2027 TRD Pro models don’t see huge mechanical overhauls, but Toyota is focusing on making off-road capability more accessible. For the full-size Tundra and Sequoia, the company is introducing a Trailhunter package based on the SR5 trim. It brings Australian Old Man Emu suspension components, Michelin LTX Trail tires, extra underbody protection, and a locking rear differential, all designed to handle serious trails without breaking the bank.

The TRD Pro versions themselves keep their signature scowling grilles, blacked-out trim, bulging fenders, and red tow hooks, so they still look the part.

Both the Tundra and Sequoia carry over mostly unchanged into 2027, aside from one notable upgrade: a 14-inch touchscreen is now standard across every trim. That’s a welcome move for tech-savvy shoppers. Meanwhile. Toyota has yet to release full details on the 2027 Tacoma and 4Runner, but expect more information soon.
