Toyota’s 2027 Corolla Hatch Gets Bigger Screens, Loses a Fan-Favorite Trim

Toyota’s Corolla Hatchback enters the 2027 model year with a noticeably upgraded cabin and a fresh set of wheels, but it also says goodbye to one of the more popular trims from last year’s lineup. The biggest change comes inside, where digital gauge clusters are now standard across the board.

For buyers who want the XSE’s tech without the full price tag. Toyota is offering a new SE Premium Package. 5-inch screen to the SE, giving the lower trim a much more upscale feel. Outside, the hatch gets two new paint colors, Inked and Blueprint, but the flashy mustard shade recently launched in Japan isn’t coming here.

The real head-turner is a set of optional 18-inch gloss white alloy wheels from Toyota’s accessory catalog, which should appeal to fans of Japanese domestic market styling, especially on darker body colors.

The bad news? The sporty-looking FX trim, introduced for the 2025 model year and carried over into 2026, has been dropped. It was a visual package that included those white wheels and a rear spoiler, but it didn’t offer any performance upgrades. For 2027, buyers are left with a choice between SE and XSE, though you can still dress up an SE with a wing and the white wheels to mimic the FX look.

0-liter four-cylinder engine makes 169 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque, paired exclusively with Toyota’s Dynamic Shift CVT. No manual transmission is available.

Pricing starts at $24,780, plus a $1,295 destination fee, putting the SE at $26,075 and the XSE at $29,170, up $200 and $500, respectively, from last year. The updated hatchbacks are expected at dealerships later this summer, with more details on the Corolla sedan still to come.
