Toyota Sequoia Gets Rugged Trailhunter Makeover for 2027

Toyota Sequoia Gets Rugged Trailhunter Makeover for 2027

Hot on the heels of the updated 2027 Tundra. Toyota has given its full-size Sequoia SUV a similar refresh, and a new off-road package that’s sure to turn heads. The Trailhunter trim, already popular on the Tundra, Tacoma, and 4Runner, now joins the Sequoia lineup, bringing serious trail-ready hardware to the family hauler.

Based on the entry-level SR5, the Trailhunter swaps in an Old Man Emu suspension system, beefy Michelin LTX Trail tires, a locking rear differential, and extra skid plates underneath. You also get Multi-Terrain Select drive modes and Crawl Control for tackling rough terrain. Bronze wheels and Trailhunter badges set it apart visually.

0-inch screen on the base model. The new infotainment system includes voice assistant upgrades and a built-in dash cam that records 20-second clips. 0 suite, with improved adaptive cruise control and emergency braking, also comes standard.

The exterior gets a larger grille, rectangular fog lights integrated into the bumper, and a chunkier lower front bumper design. Toyota says the available LED light bar is brighter than before, and RIGID fog lights and front recovery hooks are now offered across the lineup. The Sequoia will continue in six trims: SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro, and Capstone.

Pricing and full specs are expected before the SUV hits dealerships this fall.
