Toyota bZ Gets Tiny $80 Price Bump, Still Undercuts Ioniq 5

Toyota has raised the base price of its bZ electric crossover by just $80 across all trims and powertrains, keeping the entry-level model at $34,980, $20 below the Hyundai Ioniq 5's $35,000 starting MSRP. After destination fees ($1,595 for Toyota vs. $1,650 for Hyundai), buyers save $75 total.
The base bZ XLE with front-wheel drive comes with the smallest battery, offering 236 miles of range and 165 horsepower. A $3,000 upgrade to the Plus version adds a larger battery for 314 miles and 221 hp. Another $2,000 adds a second motor, boosting output to 338 hp with 288 miles of range.
The bZ Woodland, a larger, wagon-like, rugged variant, also saw an $80 price increase. It delivers between 260 and 281 miles of range from the same battery pack but packs dual motors making 375 hp. The Woodland starts at $45,380, with a Premium trim at $47,480.
Toyota didn't add any new features or paint colors for 2027, but the bZ received a major update for 2026, including greater range, more power from large-battery versions, faster charging, and an upgraded infotainment system. The minimal price hike suggests Toyota sees price as a barrier to EV adoption and aims to stay competitive, possibly encouraging other automakers to keep EV price increases modest.
