The Grand Tour Returns September 4 with a Fresh Set of Hosts

Amazon Prime’s beloved car show is revving up for a comeback. The Grand Tour will premiere its next season on September 4, the streamer confirmed via Instagram. With Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May moving on to other projects, the series is handing the keys to a completely new trio: YouTubers James Engelsman and Thomas Holland, better known as the duo behind the Throttle House channel, alongside British TikTok sensation Francis Bourgeois.

Amazon first announced the hosts back in February, but a fresh round of posts this week reintroduced them with the tagline: “Same show. ” The new season will consist of six episodes, all dropping on September 4. According to the streamer, viewers can expect the crew to cross the Angola desert in dedicated track cars, dive into Malaysia’s car culture, test cutting-edge performance machines in California, and even take on an entire nation’s legal system.

Winning over longtime fans won’t be easy. The original trio’s easygoing banter and decades of chemistry set a high bar. But the new hosts aren’t walking in cold. Jeremy Clarkson himself gave them his blessing in a February video posted by the official Grand Tour account, where he read through applications and approved Engelsman, Holland, and Bourgeois after rejecting others for having facial hair or for being, well, James May.

Come September, it’ll be up to the audience to decide if this new crew can earn a permanent spot in the driver’s seat.
