Subaru Recalls 500,000+ Vehicles - All Because of a Misplaced Sticker

, and the issue isn’t a faulty engine or a dangerous brake line. It’s a sticker. The Japanese automaker says certain models from 2019 through 2024 may have a label on the fuel system that points to the wrong pressure information, which could lead to confusion during repairs and, in rare cases, a fire risk.
The recall covers popular models including the Ascent, Outback, Legacy, and Forester, as well as the Impreza and BRZ. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the sticker shows an incorrect fuel pressure specification. If a technician follows that number during service, they might not properly tighten a fuel line connection.
Over time, that could allow fuel to leak, creating a fire hazard under the hood.
Subaru says it has not received any reports of crashes, injuries, or fires linked to the error. Still, the company is asking owners to bring their cars to dealerships, where technicians will replace the sticker with a corrected one free of charge. Notifications will start going out in early April.
For now, owners can check if their vehicle is affected by entering their VIN on Subaru’s recall site or NHTSA’s database.
