Subaru Pulls Over Half a Million Cars for Misprinted Weight Stickers

S. and Canada due to incorrect axle weight labels. The automaker says the labels on certain models show the wrong maximum load capacity for the front and rear axles, which could lead to unsafe driving conditions if the vehicle is overloaded. No crashes or injuries have been reported related to the issue, but Subaru is urging owners to bring their cars in for a free fix.
The recall covers several popular models, including the 2019-2022 Ascent, 2020-2022 Legacy and Outback, and the 2020-2022 Impreza and Crosstrek. The problem stems from a printing error at the factory that resulted in incorrect numbers on the certification label. While the labels are wrong, Subaru says the vehicles themselves meet all federal safety standards and perform as intended.
The fix is straightforward: dealers will install a corrected label on the driver's side doorjamb at no cost to owners.
