Stellantis’s U.S. Lineup: The Hits. The Misses, and Everything In Between

Stellantis’s U.S. Lineup: The Hits. The Misses, and Everything In Between

Stellantis has a lot of irons in the fire. With more brands than most automakers can juggle, it’s no surprise some models are flying off lots while others are gathering dust. Looking at sales from January through June, the top five sellers are doing the heavy lifting, led by the RAM 1500, which moved 125,522 units, a 27 percent jump from last year.

The secret sauce? Bringing back the old V8, even though the newer Hurricane six-cylinder is more efficient. Sometimes, nostalgia sells.

Close behind is the Jeep Grand Cherokee at 101,737 sales, helped by its two-row and three-row L versions. The Wrangler is still a powerhouse too, with 86,254 sales, up 1 percent despite the Ford Bronco nipping at its heels. The heavy-duty RAM 2500 and 3500 combined for 82,094 sales, and the aging Chrysler Pacifica rounded out the top five with over 67,000 sold, proving that a good minivan formula, with all-wheel drive and a V6 option, still works after a decade.

On the flip side, the bottom five are dragging. The Dodge Charger Daytona EV managed just 534 sales, down 88 percent, as buyers cling to their V8s. Alfa Romeo’s Giulia and Tonale sold 519 and 494 units, respectively, the Tonale hurt by Dodge’s cheaper Hornet sibling. The Jeep Wagoneer S suffered from a high starting price and a limited lineup, with only 373 sales.

And the Fiat 500e? Just 150 units, making it the worst-selling mainstream car in America. Range anxiety and a $35,700 price tag don’t help, even with incentives.
