Stellantis Recalls Nearly a Million Vehicles Over Rearview Camera Glitch Linked to Radio Software

Stellantis Recalls Nearly a Million Vehicles Over Rearview Camera Glitch Linked to Radio Software

Stellantis is recalling over 955,000 vehicles worldwide due to a rearview camera issue caused by radio software. The automaker says a software glitch may prevent the rearview image from appearing on the infotainment screen, a problem affecting most of Jeep’s lineup as well as Chrysler, Dodge, and Ram models.

In the United States, the recall covers 848,511 vehicles, with roughly 107,000 more spread across other markets, about 82,869 in Canada, 7,969 in Mexico, and 15,736 elsewhere. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has not yet published a formal safety report on the issue, but Stellantis said it is not aware of any injuries or accidents tied to the problem.

Affected models include the 2026-27 Chrysler Pacifica, Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid, and Voyager, plus the 2026-27 Dodge Charger. Jeep models on the list are the 2026 Compass, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee L, Grand Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer L, Gladiator, and Wrangler. Ram’s 2026 1500, 2500, ProMaster, and ProMaster EV are also included.

Rearview cameras have been a recurring trouble spot, prompting more than 180 recalls since 2018. For this campaign, Stellantis will send recall notices in September. The fix will be delivered as an over-the-air radio software update across all brands, with a prompt appearing on the vehicle’s media screen once the update is ready.
