Stellantis Recalls Nearly 75,000 SUVs Over Spoiler and Wiper Issues

Stellantis has issued two new recalls covering nearly 75,000 vehicles in the U.S., with the larger action targeting the Dodge Durango over a rear spoiler that can detach while driving.
The bigger recall affects 74,578 Durangos from the 2021-2023 model years. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the rear spoiler may not align properly with the roof, which can cause damage when using the liftgate. If that damage occurs, the spoiler could fall off during driving.
This marks the third time in five years that spoiler problems have prompted a Durango recall, following similar actions in 2021 and 2023. In March 2026, Stellantis opened an investigation after getting reports of spoiler detachments even after those earlier fixes were completed.
That investigation turned up 116 warranty claims, eight customer assistance records, and 37 other service records possibly linked to the issue between May 10, 2022, and June 30, 2026.
The cause is described as an “over-flush rear spoiler,” and the company believes only about 0.8% of the recalled vehicles are affected. There is no fix available yet, but previous recalls involved dealers inspecting and replacing the spoiler as needed.
The second recall is much smaller, covering 81 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L SUVs from 2026. These vehicles have a software problem that can make the windshield wipers stop working under certain conditions. The issue stems from bad body control module software, and Jeep learned of it in June, with just three field reports received so far.
Dealers will update the body control module software to fix the problem. Owners are expected to be notified early next month.
