Rivian CEO Discusses Potential for Smaller Electric Pickup

Rivian founder and CEO RJ Scaringe recently discussed the possibility of a smaller electric pickup truck. In an interview, Scaringe acknowledged the potential for such a vehicle, citing untapped market segments, including the midsize SUV and smaller truck spaces. He mentioned the upcoming R3 and R4 models as examples of adventure-oriented crossovers that could fill this gap, but did not confirm a pickup variant.
Scaringe noted that Rivian's platform can support various configurations, but the company is currently focused on the rollout of the R2 and R3 models. He did not rule out the possibility of different variants in the future, but cautioned against expecting them in the immediate future.
