Report: Next-Gen Chevy Camaro Revival Reportedly Arrives in 2029 With Four Doors

According to a report from GM Authority, the next-generation Chevrolet Camaro won't arrive until the 2029 model year. The revived Camaro is reportedly getting four doors for the first time, with both automatic and manual transmissions and a high-performance V-8 option.

The report says the new Camaro will ride on GM's Alpha 2 architecture, an updated platform shared with the previous Camaro and the Cadillac CT4 and CT5. That likely means rear-wheel drive carries over. There's no confirmed powertrain yet, but a turbocharged four-cylinder is possible, and a high-performance variant has reportedly been confirmed.

New Camaros are expected to be built at GM's Lansing Grand River Assembly plant in Michigan, though no production start date has been confirmed. Chevrolet dropped the Camaro after the 2024 model year, and earlier reports pointed to a 2028 return alongside the next-gen CT5. A four-door Camaro would compete with the Ford Mustang and Dodge Charger, adding a new twist to the muscle-car lineup.
