Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Weissach: 0-150-0 in 14.8 Seconds, Third Place in 2026 Test

The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package just posted a 14.8-second 0-150-0 mph run in Car and Driver's 2026 speed test, landing it in third place. That time used to be a solid quarter-mile pass at nearly 100 mph, now it's a round trip to 150 and back.
The car, which starts at $244,528 and hit $248,028 as tested, packs 1,019 horsepower and weighs 4,954 pounds, giving it a 4.9 lb/hp ratio. It rides on Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS Elect tires, with 16.5-inch front and 16.1-inch rear vented, cross-drilled carbon-ceramic brakes.
Described as an odd duck, this track-prepped, four-digit-horsepower, two-seat, four-door electric sedan can hit 60 mph in under two seconds. Its trick setup includes an electric motor on each axle and a rear two-speed transaxle, which helps both acceleration and efficiency. The big wing adds drag, but the car showed no signs of struggling.
In real dragstrip conditions, the Taycan proved highly consistent. Launching was simple: put it in Sport Plus, hold both pedals, release the brake. Across seven back-to-back runs, it stayed within half a second of its best time, making it arguably the most bracket-race-friendly car in this test.
The test appears in the September/October 2026 issue of Car and Driver. The story was written by Elana Scherr, who has covered cars for years and won awards for her automotive journalism.
