Palm Beach County Considers Restrictions on Vape Shops Near Schools

Palm Beach County is considering a new law to limit the location of vape shops, particularly near schools. The goal is to reduce youth vaping, a significant public health concern. According to a report by the Criminal Justice Commission, 120 schools in the county are within a mile of a vape shop, and 18 are within a quarter-mile.

This proximity has been linked to a higher number of vaping incidents among students. The proposed ordinance would establish a minimum distance of 1,000 feet between vape shops and schools.
