Nissan Sentra Owners Face Another Recall: Driveshaft Could Disconnect Suddenly

Nissan Sentra Owners Face Another Recall: Driveshaft Could Disconnect Suddenly

For the second time in just seven days, Nissan has issued a recall for its popular Sentra sedan, this time targeting a driveshaft issue that could cause the car to lose power unexpectedly. The problem centers on a left-side driveshaft that may not have been properly secured during assembly, potentially allowing it to separate from the transmission while driving.

If that happens, the vehicle can suddenly lose motive force, making it difficult to accelerate or move, especially in traffic.

The recall affects certain 2024 and 2025 Sentra models, and Nissan has confirmed that the faulty part may have been installed on vehicles built during a specific window last year. While no crashes or injuries have been reported so far, the company is urging owners to schedule repairs as soon as they receive official notification.

Dealers will inspect the driveshaft and, if necessary, replace it at no cost to the customer.

This latest recall comes on the heels of another Sentra action announced just days earlier, which involved a separate but equally concerning issue with the car's braking system. Together, the two recalls highlight a challenging period for Nissan's compact sedan lineup. Sentra owners are advised to check their vehicle identification number on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website or contact a local dealer to confirm whether their car is included in either recall.

At Boca Auto Care, we recommend staying proactive, if you own a Sentra, don't wait for a warning light. A quick check could save you a dangerous breakdown.
