Nissan Recalls 168,149 SUVs Over a Simple Labeling Mistake

Nissan Recalls 168,149 SUVs Over a Simple Labeling Mistake

S. for a reason that might surprise you: a sticker has the wrong number printed on it. The issue affects certain 2021 through 2025 models of the Armada and Infiniti QX80, where the label on the driver’s side doorjamb lists an incorrect tire pressure rating. While no mechanical defect exists, the error could lead drivers to under- or over-inflate their tires, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.

According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the misprinted sticker shows a recommended pressure that doesn’t match the actual specifications for the vehicle’s tires. Nissan discovered the problem during an internal audit and decided to issue a voluntary recall to correct the information.

No injuries or accidents have been reported related to this error, but the company is taking no chances.

Owners of affected vehicles will receive a free replacement sticker in the mail by late March, along with instructions on how to apply it themselves. For those who prefer a hands-off approach, dealerships will also install the corrected label at no cost. Nissan is notifying owners starting February 21.

If you drive an Armada or QX80 from these model years, check your doorjamb sticker and stay tuned for the recall notice.
