Nissan Recalls 168,000 Armada and QX80 SUVs Over Faulty Axle Weight Stickers

Nissan is pulling more than 168,000 full-size SUVs back to dealerships because of a simple but critical labeling mistake. The recall covers certain model years of the Nissan Armada and the Infiniti QX80, where the axle weight rating printed on the vehicle’s doorjamb sticker does not match the actual capacity.
That mismatch could lead drivers to overload their SUV, risking tire failure or handling problems.
The issue affects vehicles from the 2021 through 2024 model years. According to documents filed with federal safety regulators, the incorrect label shows a higher front axle weight limit than what the vehicle can safely carry. While no accidents or injuries have been reported, Nissan says the error could cause the tires to carry more weight than they are designed for, increasing the chance of a blowout.
The fix is straightforward: dealers will replace the misprinted label with a corrected one at no cost to owners.
For Boca Auto Care customers, this recall is a good reminder to always check your vehicle’s weight ratings, especially if you tow or haul heavy loads. If you own an Armada or QX80 from the affected years, we recommend contacting your local Nissan or Infiniti dealer to schedule the free label replacement.
