Nissan Issues Recall for 2025 Sentra Models: Driveshaft Issue Could Cause Power Loss or Rollaway

Nissan has announced a recall affecting a select number of 2025 Sentra sedans in the United States. The problem centers on a faulty driveshaft that could lead to sudden power loss or, in some cases, allow the vehicle to roll away unexpectedly. The recall comes after the automaker identified a manufacturing defect that may cause the left-side driveshaft to separate from the transmission.
When that happens, drivers might lose the ability to accelerate, and if the car is parked without the parking brake engaged, it could move on its own. Nissan says the issue stems from a supplier's production error and has so far been linked to a small batch of vehicles. Owners of affected Sentras will be notified starting next month, with dealers instructed to inspect and, if necessary, replace the driveshaft free of charge.
This recall is a reminder for all car owners, especially those with newer models, to stay on top of manufacturer notices. If you drive a 2025 Sentra and haven't heard from Nissan yet, check your vehicle identification number (VIN) on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website or call your local dealer.
In the meantime, if you notice any unusual vibrations, loss of power, or a clunking sound from the front end, get it checked out right away.
