Nearly 12,000 Ram 1500 Trucks Recalled Over Failing Lights

Stellantis is recalling roughly 12,000 units of the 2026 Ram 1500 pickup after discovering a flaw that could cause the parking lights and daytime running lights to stop working. The issue, outlined in documents filed with federal safety regulators, centers on a software glitch in the body control module that may prevent these lights from illuminating when the truck is started.
While the headlights and taillights are not affected, the malfunction poses a visibility risk for other drivers, especially in low-light conditions. The recall covers certain 2026 Ram 1500 models built between July and November of last year. Stellantis says it is not aware of any crashes or injuries tied to the problem.
Owners will be notified starting in March and can take their trucks to a dealer for a free software update. The fix is expected to take less than an hour. For Boca Auto Care customers, if you receive a recall notice or have concerns about your Ram 1500, bring it by our shop and we can check your vehicle’s status and coordinate the repair with your dealer.
