Mustang Owners, Check Your Steering: Ford Recalls Over 110,000 Vehicles

, citing a potential steering issue that could increase the risk of a crash. The recall targets specific model years where a front suspension component may fail, causing a sudden loss of steering control. Owners are urged to act quickly.
According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the problem stems from a rear toe link—a small but vital part connecting the suspension to the wheel hub. Over time, this link can crack and eventually separate, leading to a sudden pull to one side or, in worst cases, a complete loss of steering.
Ford says the issue was discovered after field reports and internal testing.
So far, Ford is not aware of any crashes or injuries tied to this defect. The recall covers 2022 through 2024 model year Mustangs, as well as some 2025 models built before a specific date. Dealers will replace both rear toe links free of charge. Notifications will begin mailing to owners later this month.
If you own one of these vehicles, you can check your VIN at NHTSA’s website or your local Ford dealer.
