Mini Camper Solves the Bathroom Problem With a Pop-Out Module on the Tongue

For many campers, the biggest challenge of life on the road isn’t finding a scenic spot—it’s finding a clean, private bathroom in the middle of the night. Bears may be perfectly comfortable doing their business in the woods, but most humans prefer a bit more dignity. Encore RV’s new ROG 12RK-FB addresses that frustration with a clever design twist: a full bathroom that pops out from the trailer’s tongue.

Most small campers force owners to choose between a cramped interior with a tiny toilet or no bathroom at all. Encore’s solution is to mount a storage-box-like module on the front of the trailer. When parked, that box unfolds into a standing-height wet bath with a shower and a Thetford cassette toilet.

The rip-stop pop-up enclosure provides nearly seven feet of headroom, and the aluminum-framed module includes screened windows, waterproof lighting, a 12-volt outlet, and a non-slip foam floor. The trailer’s 18,000-BTU furnace ducts heat directly into the bathroom, so cold morning showers are no longer an ordeal.

Hot water comes from an on-demand heater fed by a 43-gallon fresh water tank. The company says the system can deliver an endless supply, as long as propane and water hold out. When the bathroom is folded away, the module’s top doubles as a cargo deck with tie-down rails, capable of carrying bicycles or other gear.

Weighing in at 2,800 pounds and measuring compact enough to fit in a standard garage, the ROG 12RK-FB starts at $34,495. According to Encore RV, it’s one of their most affordable models. For anyone who has ever made a frantic dash to a campground restroom at 3 a.m., the price may seem reasonable.
