Mercedes-AMG G-Class Cabriolet Emerges in Latest Teaser Images

Mercedes-Benz first teased the return of the G-Class Cabriolet back in September with a silhouette shot. A camouflaged prototype followed in December. Now, new photos show an AMG variant, identifiable by side-exit exhaust tips and an AMG-specific license plate. The images confirm that the open-top G won’t just be a standard model; it will get the performance treatment.
The AMG version swaps the plain bumpers and modest exhaust of the standard Cabriolet for a vertical-slat grille, larger front intakes, and redesigned rear bumper. It rides on 22-inch split-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, with drilled brake rotors visible behind the spokes.
The look is noticeably more aggressive, though the overall silhouette remains the familiar boxy shape.
0-liter V8, producing 577 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. 2 seconds). It should still come with locking differentials, though most owners may never use them off-road.
Mercedes has stated the Cabriolet will be available in the United States, the first drop-top G-Class since the ultra-limited G 650 Landaulet in 2018. This model is expected to be more widely produced, though pricing will still land in six-figure territory, likely above the hardtop G63.
The addition shows that the luxury off-road segment continues to grow, signaling room for rivals like BMW and Audi to follow suit.
