Mercedes Adds More Affordable GLC Electric Models - What It Means for Our Drivers

Mercedes-Benz has just expanded its GLC Electric lineup in Europe with two new, lower-priced versions. While these models aren't confirmed for the U.S. yet, they give us a good look at where electric luxury is headed—and what it might mean for your next service visit here at Boca Auto Care.

The new GLC 250 Electric starts around $74,765 in Germany, about $7,500 less than the top-tier model. To hit that price, Mercedes made some tradeoffs: a smaller 85 kWh battery (down from 94 kWh), a single rear-wheel-drive motor with 349 hp, and a slightly lower fast-charging speed of 320 kW.

Still, it can go from 10% to 80% charge in about 22 minutes, and offers up to 404 miles of range on the European test cycle. The GLC 300 4MATIC adds all-wheel drive and 416 hp, but range drops to 383 miles.

For our customers driving Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Porsche, VW, Volvo, Jaguar, Lexus, Toyota, or Honda—including hybrids—this is a reminder that electric and hybrid technology keeps evolving. Battery health, charging system performance, and electric drivetrain maintenance are becoming as important as oil changes.

If you own a hybrid or EV, we recommend periodic inspections of your battery cooling system, charging port, and high-voltage cables. It keeps your car reliable and safe.

No word yet on when these GLC models might reach Boca Raton dealerships. But when they do, you can bring yours to us for expert care. We’ve been keeping European and Japanese cars running smoothly since 1989—no collision work, just honest mechanical service. Have questions about your current vehicle’s hybrid or electric system?
