Land Rover Drops the Four-Cylinder in 2027 Defender Lineup

Land Rover Drops the Four-Cylinder in 2027 Defender Lineup

The 2027 Land Rover Defender is getting a serious makeover. The biggest news? 0-liter four-cylinder engine has been shown the door. 0-liter inline-six making 296 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque. The lineup also gains a stylish new Vertex trim, expanded personalization options, and a six-seat configuration for the 110 body style.

The Vertex trim is a standout addition. Starting at $90,450 for the short-wheelbase 90, it features unique front and rear bumpers, body-color lower panels (instead of the usual black), a roof spoiler, and yellow-painted tow hooks that match the front brake calipers behind new 22-inch wheels.

A similar look is available on the X-Dynamic SE trim for the 110 and 130 models with the Extended Exterior Pack, though you’ll keep the black lower cladding. Land Rover has also revived the popular Namib Orange paint from the 2020 Defender and added Woolstone Green for the Octa.

The Gloss Protective Film, previously only matte, now works on any exterior color for $5,450.

Pricing starts at $62,950 for the Defender 90 S, climbs to $66,950 for the 110, and $75,950 for the 130. The top-spec Octa begins at $160,750 and can exceed $186,000 fully loaded. A new six-seat layout for the 110 adds second-row captain’s chairs and a two-person third row for just $1,350.

And if you want to trick yours out further, Land Rover offers a $760 Tail Door Gear Carrier, a $3,610 Expedition Roof Light, and the usual Adventure, Explorer, and Urban packages. 0-liter V-8 is still available and will update when we hear back.
