Lamborghini Revuelto SV Posts Fast Production Car Lap at Hockenheim Before Official Debut

Lamborghini has let the stopwatch speak before the official reveal. Factory driver Marco Mapelli drove a camouflaged Revuelto SV at the Hockenheimring eight days ahead of the car’s debut at The Quail, recording a 1:41.6 lap. Lamborghini claims this is the quickest production car lap ever at the German circuit.

The time beats the previous Lamborghini benchmark by a wide margin, 5.7 seconds faster than the Aventador SVJ’s best at Hockenheim, also set by Mapelli. For a car not yet officially shown, that’s a significant statement.

563, about three seconds quicker. Lamborghini’s claim is specifically for production cars, and the AMG One sits in a separate commercial and technical category, so the distinction is precise rather than misleading.

The Hockenheimring was chosen deliberately. Its mix of high-speed stretches, hard braking, and technical corners makes it a broadly representative test, and both Formula 1 and DTM have used it for decades. Lamborghini considers it one of the most reliable benchmarks for dynamic performance across driver skill levels, according to PistonHeads.

Mapelli is no stranger to records. He set the Nürburgring Nordschleife production lap record in the Aventador SVJ in 2018 and has since been Lamborghini’s lead development driver on programs like the Temerario GT3. He said in the official release: “The Revuelto SV has reached a level of performance we had never experienced before at Lamborghini.

Full specs remain under wraps until the August 14 debut, but testing reports offer a picture. 5-liter naturally aspirated V12 with a three-motor hybrid system (1,015 CV in the base model), but output is expected to jump to between roughly 1,200 and 1,380 CV, depending on the source.

A notable aerodynamic change is a static rear wing replacing the active spoiler, designed to keep airflow clean over the rear deck. The car is also expected to be lighter and rarer than the standard model.

CEO Stephan Winkelmann framed the record as part of a broader philosophy: “Every element of the car has been developed with the goal of taking performance to an even higher level, enhancing the driving engagement and emotion that have always defined our brand.

The Revuelto SV will appear at Monterey Car Week alongside two other Lamborghini unveilings: the Urus SE Performante (North American debut) and the Revuelto Miura 60° Homage (world premiere), marking six decades of Miura heritage and the 55th anniversary of the Miura SV. Lamborghini is treating August 14 as more than a single-car event, but for now, the Hockenheim time is doing its job: getting attention before the covers come off.
