Jeep Recall: Why Over a Million Wranglers and Gladiators Need to Park Outside

Jeep Recall: Why Over a Million Wranglers and Gladiators Need to Park Outside

If you own a Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator from the 2021 to 2025 model years, here’s a serious heads-up: Stellantis has recalled over 1.3 million of these SUVs and trucks worldwide because of a fire risk that exists even when the vehicle is parked and turned off.

The trouble is with an electrical connection in the power steering pump. If that connection isn’t fully seated or develops a fault, it can overheat and melt, potentially igniting nearby materials. Jeep is telling owners to park outside, away from garages, carports, and other structures until the fix is applied.

Dealers will inspect and repair or replace the affected parts starting in July.

What does this mean for you if you drive a Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Porsche, VW, Volvo, Jaguar, Lexus, Toyota, or Honda? Nothing directly—this recall is specific to Jeep. But it’s a good reminder that electrical issues can affect any modern vehicle, especially hybrids and high-tech models.

If you’ve noticed warning lights or odd behavior from your power steering, battery, or charging system, don’t ignore it.

At Boca Auto Care, we’ve been keeping European and Japanese cars running right since 1989. If you’re concerned about a recall or just want peace of mind, bring it by. We’ll inspect your vehicle thoroughly and let you know exactly what it needs. No jargon, no pressure—just honest, expert service.
