Stellantis Recalls Jeep Models Due to Fire Risk

A recall has been issued by Stellantis for over a million Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator models from 2021 to 2025. The recall is due to the power-steering pump wiring potentially overheating and causing a fire. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is advising owners to park these vehicles outside and away from structures until repairs are done.
1% of the affected Jeeps have the defect. The necessary repairs, which include an inspection and replacement of faulty parts, will be done free of charge at dealerships. This recall does not affect vehicles from other manufacturers, such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Porsche, VW, Volvo, Jaguar, Lexus, Toyota, or Honda.
However, it serves as a reminder that electrical issues can occur in any vehicle, particularly as they age. Vehicle owners are encouraged to be aware of potential electrical issues, such as flickering lights or a burning smell, and to address any concerns promptly.
