Issue Affects Fuel Injection in Certain Vehicles

A problem related to the Long Term Fuel Trim (LTFT) system has been identified in various European and Japanese vehicles, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Porsche, VW, Volvo, Jaguar, Lexus, Toyota, and Honda models, as well as hybrids. The LTFT system regulates fuel injection, and when out of balance, can cause one bank of cylinders to run too lean, resulting in decreased performance and potential damage.

Contributing factors may include clogged fuel injectors, oil contamination, or leaks in the turbo manifold. Vehicle owners experiencing poor engine performance may need to have their vehicle inspected by a professional to diagnose the issue. A scanner can be used to read tank pump pressure, fuel rail high pressure, and LTFT values to determine the cause of the problem.

Necessary repairs can then be made to restore the vehicle's performance and efficiency.
