Influencer's Rare Twin-Turbo Lamborghini Destroyed by Fire After Dealer Test Drive

Influencer's Rare Twin-Turbo Lamborghini Destroyed by Fire After Dealer Test Drive

A planned week of celebrating high-end cars at the 2026 Monterey Car Week turned into a nightmare for automotive influencer Gabe Farrell when his highly customized, twin-turbo Lamborghini Aventador burned to the ground.

The trouble started less than two minutes into Farrell's first drive of the event, when a massive oil leak coated the rear of the car. He arranged for a flatbed to tow it to a certified Lamborghini dealership north of Monterey, expecting technicians to secure the line and clean the engine bay.

Instead, he got a shocking call. The dealership allegedly fixed the oil line but then took the 1,000-plus horsepower supercar out for an unapproved test drive on the highway. According to Farrell, the car began leaking oil again and caught fire. He suspects technicians either failed to secure a secondary line or didn't clean residual oil off the hot turbo blankets before hitting highway speeds.

The California Highway Patrol in San Jose confirmed on social media that they responded to the blaze, which engulfed the rear half of the vehicle. The car, valued at over $500,000, featured a 1-of-20 Liberty Walk widebody kit, one-of-a-kind paint, and was the first LP700 Lamborghini to receive a Boost Logic twin-turbo kit, making it irreplaceable.

Farrell, who has over 2 million TikTok followers, said insurance is expected to cover the loss, but the reality is still sinking in. "My Lamborghini is actually gone; it's not AI, it actually happened burned to the ground as you guys saw, and even a day later still doesn't feel real," he told his audience.
