Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 N Gets a Big Price Cut and Even More Drift Modes

Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 N Gets a Big Price Cut and Even More Drift Modes

If you’ve been eyeing one of the most entertaining electric cars on the market, here’s some welcome news. Hyundai’s 2026 Ioniq 5 N is arriving a bit later than expected, but it’s also $6,300 cheaper than the outgoing model. That drops the starting price to $61,500 (including destination) for a hot hatch that cranks out nearly 650 horsepower when you hit the N Grin Boost button.

It’s one of the best power-per-dollar deals you’ll find on four wheels, and the fun factor is off the charts.

The 2026 model brings more than just a lower price. Hyundai has added a 10-stage Drift Optimizer, letting drivers dial in exactly how much sideways action they want, up from a single setting last year. The N also gets the NACS charging port, giving it access to Tesla Superchargers, and Hyundai will include CCS-to-NACS adapters for both Level 2 and DC fast charging.

Small upgrades like auto up/down rear windows and a driver attention camera round out the changes, along with a new Performance Blue Pearl paint option.

Under the sheet metal, the dual-motor setup delivers 601 horsepower and 545 pound-feet of torque as standard, with bursts of 641 hp and 568 lb-ft in N Grin Boost mode. 5 seconds. DC fast charging can take the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. But the real magic is in the driving experience, Hyundai has engineered the N to mimic a gas-powered dual-clutch system, complete with a virtual rev limiter.

With a price cut of more than 10 percent and more ways to get silly on a closed course, the Ioniq 5 N is an even better bargain for driving enthusiasts who want to go electric.
