Honda’s First Electric Motorcycle Takes on Harley’s LiveWire - and Beats It by $11

Honda’s First Electric Motorcycle Takes on Harley’s LiveWire - and Beats It by $11

Honda has finally entered the electric motorcycle game with the WN7, a retro-styled naked bike that lands in European dealerships starting at €14,780 ($16,879). That price puts it exactly €10—or $11—below Harley-Davidson’s updated LiveWire One, a gap Honda clearly calculated. The WN7 is the production version of the EV Fun concept unveiled last year, and it arrives alongside two new electric scooters, the EM1 e: and CUV e:.

For Honda, this marks a shift from watching the electric two-wheeler market to actively competing in it.

3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired with a single electric motor that makes 67 horsepower and 74 lb-ft of torque. That torque hits instantly, but the bike is heavy for its class at 478 pounds. Honda says the WN7 isn’t designed to replace any of its gas-powered models, and it shows in the design: stacked square headlights, a single-sided rear swing arm inspired by Ducati, and no wind deflector give it a distinct, funky look.

The battery pack is obvious in the frame, but the bike still looks purposeful.

Riders get configurable regenerative braking to recover energy and reduce wear on the mechanical brakes, plus a walking speed mode that prevents accidental throttle blips in parking lots. The WN7’s price wasn’t chosen at random—LiveWire’s One originally cost over €30,000 in Europe, then dropped to about €25,000, and now sits at €14,790.

Honda undercuts that by a symbolic €10, making a clear statement. With the WN7 and its scooter siblings, Honda is signaling that the electric motorcycle era has a new heavyweight contender.
