Honda Trail Experience App Brings Live Off-Road Data to TrailSport Owners

Honda has introduced a free app designed to give TrailSport owners real-time access to their vehicle’s off-road performance metrics. The Honda Trail Experience (HTX) app is now available on the Apple App Store for the 2026 Passport, Pilot, and CR-V TrailSport models.
The app tracks 11 data points, including tire angle, pitch, roll, throttle position, brake pressure, and outside and engine temperatures. It also records elevation, latitude, and longitude, allowing drivers to create and store interactive trail maps for future trips. Through Apple CarPlay, users can display up to six metrics simultaneously on the vehicle’s infotainment screen.
HTX also includes a video-capture function that lets drivers control their iPhone’s camera from inside the car. Users can mount their phones anywhere within Bluetooth range—inside or outside the vehicle—and record videos or take photos through the TrailSport’s touchscreen. When ready to share, they can export the footage with overlays of trail maps and performance data directly from the app.
Honda developed the app with input from more than 1,500 people who own or have driven the 2026 Passport TrailSport. ” The company tested the app with beginner, novice, and expert off-roaders on a closed course in January 2026, and plans to release updates based on feedback from that testing.
Honda engineers are also working on expanding the app’s features and developing an Android version. Current users can submit feedback through the app itself. For more details, see Honda’s official announcement at honda.com.
