Honda Recalls Over 325,000 Odyssey Minivans for Rear Camera Issue

Honda Recalls Over 325,000 Odyssey Minivans for Rear Camera Issue

Honda’s American division has announced a major recall affecting 325,588 Odyssey minivans. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that the recall covers specific models from the 2018, 2019, and 2020 model years. The problem stems from a potential seal failure in the rearview camera housing.

If moisture gets inside the camera unit, the display screen may go blank when the driver shifts into reverse. That loss of visibility significantly raises the risk of a crash. To fix the issue, authorized Honda dealerships will replace the rearview camera free of charge on all vehicles included in the campaign.

Owners are advised to contact their local dealer to schedule the repair.

Separately. Ford has reopened a recall affecting more than 66,000 hybrid SUVs that had previously been repaired for the same defect. The earlier fix apparently failed to fully resolve the problem. This second campaign covers hybrid Ford Explorer models from 2020 through 2022 and Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid vehicles from 2021 through 2023, all equipped with the Phoenix audio system.

Both automakers are advising owners to check their vehicle identification numbers on the NHTSA website to see if their car is included.
