Honda Recalls 325,000 Cars as Rearview Cameras May Fail to Show the Full Picture

Honda has issued a recall affecting approximately 325,000 vehicles after discovering a software glitch that could cause the rearview camera display to go blank or fail to activate in time. The issue, which centers on the audio control unit’s software, means drivers might not get a clear view behind them when reversing, raising the risk of a collision or injury.
The recall covers several popular models from the 2022 through 2025 model years, including the Civic, CR-V, HR-V, and Acura Integra, among others. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the problem occurs when the camera’s video feed doesn’t appear within the required two-second window after the driver shifts into reverse.
Honda says it will update the software free of charge at dealerships, and owners can expect notification letters starting in late January.
For drivers eager to check if their vehicle is affected. Honda has set up a dedicated recall lookup page on its website. Until the fix is applied, the automaker advises being extra cautious when backing up, relying on mirrors and looking over your shoulder.
