Honda Issues Major Recall Affecting Over 325,000 Vehicles

Honda has announced a recall covering more than 325,000 vehicles due to a potential safety issue that could affect engine performance. The recall, which spans several popular models from recent years, comes after the automaker identified a defect that may cause the engine to stall or lose power while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

Owners are urged to check their vehicle identification numbers and schedule repairs at authorized dealerships at no cost.

The affected models include certain Honda Accord, Civic, CR-V, and Pilot vehicles, primarily from the 2022 through 2024 model years. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the problem stems from a software glitch in the fuel injection system that can cause an improper air-fuel mixture.

In some cases, this can lead to rough idling, hesitation during acceleration, or an unexpected engine shutdown. Honda says it has received a limited number of customer complaints but no reports of injuries or fatalities related to the defect.

Dealers will update the engine control module software free of charge, and Honda will begin notifying affected owners by mail starting next month. If you own one of the recalled vehicles, you can also check your status online using Honda's recall lookup tool. For drivers in the Boca Raton area, Boca Auto Care recommends bringing your vehicle in for a complimentary inspection if you experience any unusual engine behavior, even if your car isn't on the official recall list yet.

Staying proactive about recalls and maintenance keeps you and your family safe on the road.
