Genesis GV90 Neolun Takes On Rolls-Royce With Coach Doors And Heated Wood Floors

Genesis has unveiled its new GV90 flagship SUV, and the Neolun version is making waves in the luxury segment. The large electric SUV comes with features that put it in direct competition with Rolls-Royce, including B-pillar-less coach doors and heated wood flooring.
The GV90 Neolun, which means "New Moon," offers a range of standout amenities. These include stone trim, a motorized shifter, an airbag covering the entire glass roof, swiveling seats, and an extending cinema screen. The interior features semi-aniline leather seats, a center console with a refrigerator, and integrated tables for rear passengers.
Genesis calls the coach doors the Neolun Arch Gate, touting them as the world's first independently opening and closing hidden B-pillar coach doors. The company says engineers developed a dual-motion hinge mechanism that allows the rear doors to open without impeding the front doors.
Safety is addressed with 12 airbags, including what Genesis claims is the world's first roof airbag, plus a reinforced cabin structure.
The GV90 runs on a new platform called eMP, with a 123.5-kWh battery pack and dual motors producing 657 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. Genesis says a seven-seater version can travel about 311 miles on a single charge, and a 350-kW fast charger can take the battery from 10% to 80% in 22 minutes.
A First Edition of the Neolun is being held for "elite customers" and comes with four seats, real wood veneer flooring with radiant heating, and exclusive two-tone paint options. The standard GV90 offers six or seven seats, while the Neolun is exclusively a six-seater.
The exterior draws inspiration from the moon jar, a traditional Korean porcelain piece, with clean, curved lines. There are 16 color options available, including three matte finishes. Inside, buyers can choose from natural woods, leathers, cashmere, and genuine stone.
The GV90 features a 23.6-inch display that extends to 24.6 inches when parked, a 25-inch head-up display, and a 25-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. There's no start button; the car turns on when the door handle is pulled.
Genesis hasn't announced pricing or a specific on-sale date, but the target is the first half of 2027. The standard GV90 is expected to start around $100,000.
