Genesis enters the big electric SUV arena with the new GV90

Genesis has finally turned its Neolum concept into a production model, unveiling the GV90 as its new electric flagship. The concept, shown a couple of years ago, featured a four-seat cabin with no B pillar, swiveling front seats, and a mix of leather, wool, and wood. Based on photos, the production version stays true to that design.
The GV90 rides on the same 800-volt E-GMP platform used by the Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Kia EV9. While a seven-seat, three-row GV90 will be offered later, the launch focuses on the four-seat version and the upscale GV90 Neolum. That model keeps most of the concept’s look, including the pillarless coach doors, which Genesis calls the Neolum Arch Gate.
Those doors add visual flair, and Genesis says it has engineered them to meet all safety requirements for mass production. For safety, every GV90 comes with the world’s first roof airbag, which deploys in a rollover, plus 11 other airbags throughout the cabin.
