Former Kia Service Manager Fired After Admitting to Borrowing Injectors From Customer's SUV

Former Kia Service Manager Fired After Admitting to Borrowing Injectors From Customer's SUV

A Louisiana Kia dealership is cleaning house after a service manager was caught on camera using parts from one customer's vehicle to repair another's. The incident unfolded at Kia of Lake Charles, where Shirley Poullard had brought in her first-generation Telluride following a blown tire.

After her SUV sat for over a month with little communication, she went to check on it and found the hood up and the engine taken apart, not typical work for a tire issue.

When confronted, the service manager admitted on video, "The only thing we did was borrow two [fuel] injectors... " The clip went viral locally and online, prompting an internal review. The dealership confirmed the manager is no longer employed, and a statement on its website apologizes to the customer, pledging high standards of care and honesty.

Poullard called the act "stealing," saying she would have unknowingly driven off and later been blamed for any problems. She's now back with her Telluride but feels uneasy and is reportedly seeking legal counsel. Fuel injectors for the model run around $421 each, according to a quick online check.
