Ford Rules Out More Powerful Bronco and Ranger Raptors

Ford Rules Out More Powerful Bronco and Ranger Raptors

Ford's chief engineer for racing production vehicles, Carl Widmann, has stated that there are no plans to produce a Bronco Raptor R or Ranger Raptor R. 0-liter V6, which produces 405 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, and the Bronco Raptor's 418 horsepower and 440 pound-feet, may already be too powerful.

Widmann's reasoning is that excessive power can lead to premature wear on brakes, suspensions, and drivetrains. The Ranger Raptor's power output exceeds that of its rivals by at least 30 horsepower. This decision underscores the idea that more power is not always the answer, and that regular maintenance is essential to keep a powerful truck or SUV running smoothly.
