Ford reportedly plotting $25K crossover and a four-door Mustang

Fresh off the reveal of its affordable electric truck. Ford may have more budget-friendly metal in the pipeline. According to a report from Automotive News, the automaker is working on a new entry-level crossover with a starting price near $25,000, though it likely won't hit dealerships until 2029.
The news comes from an unnamed Ford dealer who was shown an early prototype described as resembling a first-gen Escape. The crossover is said to offer both hybrid and traditional gas powertrains. Several sources also tell Automotive News that Ford plans to build a hybrid crossover at its Hermosillo plant in Mexico in 2029, alongside the Bronco Sport and Maverick.
In the same leak. Ford reportedly showed off a four-door Mustang, which Automotive News compared to the Porsche Panamera in size and styling, but with a sub-$40,000 price tag, roughly a third of the cheapest Panamera. Additionally, the universal electric vehicle platform set to underpin the Fathom will reportedly spawn four other electric Ford models.
These details come from a single dealer leak and have not been officially confirmed by Ford.
