Ford Reportedly Plans Bronco Pickup, Smaller Transit Van by 2030

Ford Reportedly Plans Bronco Pickup, Smaller Transit Van by 2030

According to a report from Automotive News. Ford is developing a pickup truck based on the Bronco, with an arrival expected by 2030. The truck would join other Bronco variants at the Michigan Assembly Plant and follow a Bronco hybrid expected for the 2028 model year.

The report offers few specifics, but it says the Bronco pickup will arrive closer to the end of this decade. It would follow a hybrid version in 2027, likely for the 2028 model year, possibly alongside a visual refresh for the SUV. This isn't the first time such a pickup has been rumored, it was originally expected earlier in the decade.

Production would shift the Ranger out of the Michigan plant, with Ford moving its mid-size truck to the Tennessee Truck Plant around 2029.

Ford's Bronco revival has been successful, with 146,007 units sold in 2025, a 34 percent increase over 2024, and the smaller Bronco Sport has topped 124,000 annual sales for three straight years.

The same report also mentions a new, smaller-than-Transit van built at Ford's Ohio Assembly Plant starting in 2029, with gas and hybrid powertrains. Sources describe it as larger than the discontinued Transit Connect but closer in size to the European Transit Custom. Additionally.

Ford is reportedly working on a four-door Mustang sedan around 2030, with a starting price under $40,000 and possible hybrid or V-8 options. Ford has not commented on these reports.
