Ford Recalls Over 565,000 Broncos Over Engine Fire Risk

Ford is pulling more than half a million Bronco SUVs off the road due to a wiring issue that could spark an engine fire. The recall covers 565,691 examples of the 2021 through 2026 Bronco, including the high-performance Raptor model, after the automaker discovered exposed circuits in the engine compartment wiring harness.
These vulnerable wires can short-circuit and ignite a fire depending on conditions under the hood. Ford says it knows of 15 incidents where this may have occurred. The fix is straightforward: dealers will install extra sheathing on the harness at no charge to owners.
In other news, Honda is hitting pause on two beloved sporty sedans. Production of the Civic Si and Acura Integra A-Spec will stop after the 2026 model year because of an EPA certification snag tied to their powertrains, which both feature six-speed manual transmissions. Honda says it expects both models to return once the issue is resolved, so fans of rowing their own gears shouldn't panic just yet.
Meanwhile, Ford is teaming up with Apple to build Apple Maps directly into its upcoming Universal EV Platform, starting with a long-rumored $30,000 compact electric pickup. This marks Apple's first deal to natively embed its maps into a vehicle, a space Google has dominated for years.
Stellantis has a small but curious recall on its hands: exactly 641 examples of the 2026 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator are being called back because of poorly manufactured wheels with thin walls that could crack. The company has identified the specific vehicles with these out-of-spec wheels and will replace them.
Over at Tesla, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has declined to investigate the Model 3's emergency door release system, despite a petition arguing the latches are hard to find after a crash. 5 percent compared to the same period last year.
