Ford Recalls Mustang Over Wiper Issue, But Fix Won’t Come Until 2027

Ford Recalls Mustang Over Wiper Issue, But Fix Won’t Come Until 2027

Ford Motor Company has announced a recall affecting certain Mustang models due to a windshield wiper failure that could significantly reduce driver visibility in bad weather. The problem lies in a faulty wiper motor connection, which may cause the wipers to stop working unexpectedly.

Ford warns that this defect increases the risk of a crash, particularly during rain or snow. However, in an unusual move, the automaker says replacement parts won’t be available until 2027, leaving many owners waiting years for a permanent fix.

The recall covers approximately 10,000 Mustangs from the 2024 and 2025 model years. According to Ford, the issue stems from an electrical connector that can corrode over time, leading to intermittent wiper operation. While the company has not reported any accidents or injuries linked to the defect, it advises drivers to avoid using the wipers in heavy precipitation until the repair is performed.

For now. Ford says it will notify owners by mail and offer a temporary workaround, if available, until the redesigned parts are ready.

At Boca Auto Care, we understand how frustrating it is to deal with a recall that has no immediate solution. While Ford works on a long-term fix, our certified technicians can inspect your Mustang’s wiper system and provide interim maintenance to keep you safe on the road. We recommend staying alert to any wiper performance changes and scheduling a checkup with us today.

Your safety is too important to wait until 2027.
