Ford Mustang GTD Owners Face Wiper Woes: Recall Issued

Ford Mustang GTD Owners Face Wiper Woes: Recall Issued

Ford has issued a recall for its high-performance Mustang GTD models due to a problem with the windshield wipers. The issue, which affects a limited number of these exclusive sports cars, could cause the wipers to fail during use, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.

According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the defect stems from a manufacturing error in the wiper motor assembly.

The recall covers approximately 100 Mustang GTDs from the 2025 model year. Ford discovered the problem after reports of wipers stopping mid-cycle or operating at inconsistent speeds. Drivers might notice the wipers moving erratically or not responding to controls. A sudden loss of wiper function in rain or snow could be hazardous, especially on high-speed roads where the GTD is often driven.

Ford will notify affected owners starting next month. Dealers will inspect the wiper system and replace the faulty motor assembly free of charge. Owners with questions can contact Ford customer service or visit their local dealer for prompt service. If you drive a Mustang GTD and suspect a wiper issue, it's smart to get it checked before the weather turns ugly.
