Ford Issues Recall on F-150 Trucks Over Running Light Problem

Ford Issues Recall on F-150 Trucks Over Running Light Problem

Ford Motor Company has announced a recall affecting thousands of F-150 pickup trucks after identifying a defect in the running lights. The issue, which involves the daytime running lamps failing to illuminate properly, could reduce visibility for other drivers, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall covers certain model year 2023 and 2024 F-150s.

According to documents filed with federal safety regulators, the problem stems from a software glitch in the truck's body control module. This glitch can cause the running lights to remain off or flicker unexpectedly, even when the vehicle is in motion. Ford says it has not received any reports of accidents or injuries linked to the defect, but the company is moving proactively to fix the issue.

Owners of affected F-150s will be notified by mail starting next month. Dealers will update the software free of charge. If you own a 2023 or 2024 F-150, you can check your vehicle's recall status by entering your VIN on Ford's official website or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's recall portal.

At Boca Auto Care, we recommend staying on top of any recall notices to keep your truck safe and road-ready.
